About us
The UN SDG Action Campaign is a universal entry point for citizens to interact with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and support the efforts to implement them. In October 2015, the UN Secretary General sanctioned the new mandate of the Campaign for the next 15 years to contribute to SDG achievement by building and maintaining political will for the Goals, as well as by encouraging and supporting multi-stakeholder engagement in the implementation of Agenda 2030. In 1945, the world stood at a crossroads. At the San Francisco Conference — the largest international gathering of its time — nations came together not in triumph, but in shared resolve. They knew going it alone had failed. The Charter of the United Nations is a bold, collective commitment to choose dialogue over division, diplomacy over destruction, solidarity over competition. That vision still matters. In a world facing climate threats, conflict, and inequality, the message is clear: global problems need global solutions. It’s up to us to keep that vision alive. Speak up. Stand up for peace, dialogue and cooperation.

Debt can drive sustainable development. No country has developed without it. But only when the #debt is fair, sustainable and inclusive. Today, more than 3.3 billion people live in countries that spend more on debt payments than on #health, #education and #ClimateAction. Developing countries pay up to 12 times more to borrow than developed countries. To resolve the global debt crisis, we must establish an inclusive debt restructuring mechanism that ensures public debt sustainability. Let’s make debt work for development, not against it. #FinancingOurFuture #FFD4 | UN SDG Action Campaign | United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs

Education is more than a classroom: it’s a lifeline. Yet today, nearly half of all refugee children, 52 million, are out of school, denied their basic human right to learn and grow. Winter break may be over for some, but for too many the school bell never rings. Let’s change that: a world where every child goes to school is a world worth fighting for. Everyone should have the opportunity to thrive. Yet today, over 122 million individuals are forcibly displaced worldwide due to human rights violations, conflicts and climate change. Together, we can create a world where everyone can reach their full potential. Listen to the #SDGAwards alumni Hamzat Lawal, Connected Development [CODE], and his story of hope in action. Heroes of tomorrow—like Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation—are protecting and restoring forests. Forests breathe life into our planet. They store carbon, shelter biodiversity, clean our air, and sustain communities. Yet in just two decades, deforestation has unleashed 8.1 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year—fueling climate change and deepening inequalities. But there is still time to change course. Protecting and restoring forests is one of the most powerful solutions we have to combat climate change, support biodiversity, improve air quality and sustain livelihoods. Let’s #ActNow before it’s too late.
