Imagine a world where no one goes hungry — where every young person has a seat at the table, not only to eat, but to shape the future of how food is grown, shared, and valued. A world where creativity and art don’t just reflect reality, but they change it. At the #UNFSS2025 Action Day event Young People as Changemakers: How Art and Creativity Are Transforming Our Food Systems, co-hosted by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia , Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, and the UN SDG Action Campaign, high-level speakers, including United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed and Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye, Ethiopia’s Minister of Women and Social Affairs, joined UN #SDGAward changemakers, artists, youth leaders, and civil society in a dynamic, intergenerational experience. The message was clear: art is not a soft power — it’s a systemic force. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d3rFYdD2

“Let’s make food systems a bridge to dignity, sustainability, and shared hope.” —Ahunna Eziakonwa, Assistant Secretary-General (ASG) and Director of UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa. At the United Nations Food Systems Summit +4 in Addis Ababa, Mrs. Eziakonwa calls for bold, inclusive actions to transform food systems. With only five years left to deliver on the 2030 Agenda, we face a world marked by climate shocks, conflict, and inequality. Yet transformation is within reach—when we prioritise inclusive governance, community knowledge, and leadership. 🎥 Watch the full message from the ASG and join the movement for sustainable and resilient food systems. #UNFSS2025 #GlobalGoals

At #UNFSS2025, I’m honored to stand alongside the next generation of food system #changemakers — young people who are not only growing food, but growing movements rooted in justice, equity, imagination, and #sustainability. Their leadership has the power to boost the global economy by $1.5 trillion and shape a future where everyone can afford a healthy, dignified life. But they cannot do it alone. We must invest in #youth, shift decision-making power, and foster #creative, inclusive spaces where ideas can flourish — where #storytelling, innovation, and the #arts become tools for transformation. 🎨 Because #art is a universal language — one that transcends borders, generations, and cultures. It helps us feel what statistics cannot express, opens our eyes to new realities, and inspires us to act. It brings together the energy of youth with the wisdom of traditional knowledge to drive collective action. That’s why I’m especially proud of the event, “Young People as Changemakers: How Art and Creativity are Driving Sustainable #FoodSystems,” co-hosted by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia 🇪🇹 and Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale 🇮🇹, and the UN SDG Action Campaign, spotlighting youth voices, UN #SDGAwards winners, and #artists like Uğur Gallenkuş who are confronting inequality and sparking transformation through #creativity. Let’s #ActNow across generations because a better future starts with the seeds we plant today and with the truth we dare to tell. Watch our Action Day Event on demand: https://lnkd.in/dXtMPf52
